About Me

Hi! 👋

I’m McKenzie Courtney, Ed.S., LEP #4087, soon-to-be wife, daughter, sister, friend, and health and fitness enthusiast.

I’m a Licensed Educational Psychologist, former school psychologist, and special education administrator with a passion for helping children, families, and educators navigate the educational journey with confidence, clarity, and compassion.

I hold a Master’s degree and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, along with a California Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology, a California Administrative Services Credential, and licensure as an Educational Psychologist. I have pursued specialized training in dyslexia and the science of reading through the Orton Gillingham Academy, as well as autism spectrum disorders and related conditions through the University of California, Davis MIND Institute. Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege of supporting students with a wide range of learning, developmental, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

I founded Every Mind Collective with the belief that every child deserves to be understood, every family deserves support, and every learner deserves the opportunity to thrive. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, collaborative, and strengths-based. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I believe meaningful progress begins by recognizing each child’s unique strengths, understanding their individual needs, and partnering with families to develop practical, individualized strategies that support success. My goal is to help families feel empowered as they navigate their child’s educational journey, understand their child’s learning profile, and make informed decisions about the supports and services that will help their child reach their full potential. I believe that when children are truly understood, they are better equipped to grow, learn, and thrive.

Outside of my professional work, you’ll often find me spending time with family, hiking local trails, paddleboarding, exploring new coffee shops, or learning new ways to support overall health and wellness.

Whether you’re seeking guidance through the special education process, educational consultation, or support in helping your child reach their full potential, I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
